Event Details

Participants can enter as either individuals or teams (there are four different classes — find the one that suits you best below).

Your watercraft can only be constructed using TWO items: duct tape and cardboard. We encourage you to decorate your boat and if that includes painting it, please use LATEX paint only. Decorations cannot affect the structural strength or buoyancy.

Classes

Family :: Families with children a minimum of 8 years old
Youth :: 
Aged 12 – 17. The boats must be built and decorated with limited adult involvement and must be paddled by the youth
Corporate/Community ::
Businesses and community groups
Open ::
Open to any individual, team or group

Important to note:
Any children participating in the Family, Corporate/Community, or Open Class must be a minimum of 8 years old
Maximum number of 4 people per boat

When and where

  • SUNDAY, July 16, 2023; boat check-in is at 11:00am and races begin at NOON
  • Boat launch site on the Waterfront Trail of Long Lake Park: 75 Old Sambro Road, Halifax (this is the old pumphouse site, located directly opposite Schnare Street)
